  1. 1 cupGram flour
  2. Salt to taste
  3. 1 tspSugar
  4. 1 tspLemon juice
  5. 1 tspGinger paste
  6. 1/4 tspTurmeric powder
  7. 1 tbspOil
  8. 1 tspFruit salt (ENO)
  9. For tempering
  10. 2 tbspOil
  11. 1 tspMustard seeds
  12. 1 sprigCurry leaves
  13. 2-3Green chillies
  14. 1/2 cupwater
  15. Salt to taste
  16. 1 tspSugar
  17. 1 tbspCoriander leaves
  18. 1 tbspcoconut crushed

Steps

    In a mixing bowl, add gram flour, salt to taste, sugar, lemon juice, ginger paste, turmeric powder,

    Water as required and whisk it nicely. Mix them properly into smooth batter. Make sure that there are no lumps.

    In another bowl, add oil and fruit salt and mix well.

    Transfer this into the mixture and mix everything well.

    For Steaming
    ● Pour a glass of water into a 3 or 5 litres capacity pressure cooker/pan

    And heat it over medium flame for 4-5 minutes before placing the greased plates.

    Place a small stand or a small bowl in the pressure cooker/ pan and place greased plates filled with batter over it.

  8. 8

    Close the pressure cooker lid / pan lid and Cook it over medium flame for 15 minutes. After 15-minutes open the lid and insert the toothpick or knife to check if dhokla is cooked or not. If it is not cooked then cook it more for 5-minutes.

    For Tempering
    ● In a pan heat oil, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilli let it splutter.

    Add water, salt to taste, sugar and coriander leaves mix well.
    ● Pour the tadka on the steam dhokla.

Ma Sha Allah u made it perfectly, yes u r right being a Gujrati we served this dish as a snack, some tips for u instead of adding fruit salt (Eno) in oil, add directly in batter at the last moment. If u want u can check my kitchen for reference
But u did it perfectly, good job 👍
Next time try this yummy snack with coconut chatni and it also taste delicious with lehsan chatni too
