Chicken Makhni Handi

Usually I make reshmi handi but yesterday my family wanted to have Makhni Handi. I opened a google and wrote Makhni Handi and found Cookpad Handi recipe, I smiled and excited too… I browse it little bit down and see it’s written makhni handi by @Mehaktabani … oh my gosh😃 I clicked and found a delicious recipe. I bookmarked it and planned it to cook for dinner.
Well, usually handi makes with boneless, but my family doesn’t like boneless gravies specially desi style one, so I use chicken with bone. When I started cooking, the aroma is spreading all over my home, my daughter came and asked mumma what are you cooking today, the smell is making my tummy growling. And literally when I serve it, the cream mix with gravy with the melting butter was giving an appetizing appearance of the dish. Everyone loves it and I glad that I chose @Mehaktabani’s recipe.

First of all, marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala.

Add yogurt and lemon juice. Mix it well and keep it for half an hour or 1.

In the mean while, cut onions, put in water, blench it and make a paste. Keep aside.

Same thing will do with tomatoes. Cut in cube, boil it, cool down and blend it.

Add butter in a claypot (handi) and add onion paste, fry for a while and add Chicken with tomato paste

Mix it well and cover it for 10 mins. Uncover and add cream and butter. Turn of the flame and let it melt in that hot gravy.

Garnish with julienne ginger. The good point to use claypot or handi is the food stays hot for longer period.

Serve it with naan or kulcha and enjoy the meal with your loved ones.
