In cooker vessel add rice and mix dal. Wash 3-4 times. Soak for 2 hours.

Pressure cook rice and mix dal with salt and turmeric powder for 4 whistles.

Grind spinach leaves, green chillies ginger and onion to make puree. Keep aside.

In Kadhai add heat ghee. Add cummin seeds as splutter add cinnamon stick,cloves,dry red chillies,bay leaf.

Add cooked dal khichdi and spinach puree. Mix well. Add salt if needed. Cook for 2 minutes.

To prepare Gujarati Kadhi... whisk buttermilk and besan together. In pan add heat ghee. Add fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, cummin seeds as splutter add asafoetida curry leaves and chopped green chillies, crushed ginger.

Pour whisked curd- besan mixture. Add salt,jaggery and stirring constantly simmer for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves.

Serve Relish delicious hot Mix Dal Palak Khichdi with Gujarati Kadhi onion pickles and papad.
