Mimi's Tteokbokki (Not so Sweet)

Cooking Instructions
- 1
First, soak "tteok" in "water" so they become soften
- 2
Meanwhile, mix "all the ingredients for the sauce part" together and set aside
- 3
After the tteok looks a bit soften, turn on medium heat and wait a bit for the water to start to boil and then add the sauce part in and mix well using spatula or whatever cooking utensils you have
- 4
Keep stirring so the tteok do not stick to the pot bottom or surface
- 5
Cut "fish cakes" into tinier pieces that will fit your mouth, however you like
- 6
The whole thing will start to become saucier so add the "fish cakes" and "dumplings" and "pain noodles" in and keep stirring
- 7
Add chopped "welsh onions"
- 8
Serve in small bowls or eat from the pot while it's hot
- 9
And if you have a pot + grill like I do then you can do some bbq on the side

Sweet & Salty Spring Rolls with Vegetable Namul and Tteokbokki (Mochi) Sweet & Salty Spring Rolls with Vegetable Namul and Tteokbokki (Mochi)
I wondered if sweet and salty gochujiang flavored tteokbokki would taste good wrapped in crispy spring rolls. When I made them, they came out just as delicious as I thought. The point is to thoroughly flavor the mochi Since making only a small amount of namul just for these spring rolls seems pointless to me, I make extra and use it the next day to make bibimbap or soup, etc. You could also make these spring rolls using leftover or store bought namul. For 10 spring rolls. Recipe by Masapandayan cookpad.japan -

I came up with a slightly Western-style tteokbokki dish that would be popular at a house party or gathering. This is the amount that I always make, so I'm not sure how it would work if divided in half. Just pay attention to how it looks. Basically just make it to suit your tastes. Something that's not as spicy might be better for a big gathering of people with different tastes. You can substitute consommé for the dashida. Recipe by Wu-tang cookpad.japan -

I learned this from a Korean instructor. If you finely chop the tteok, the flavor will bind better.Adding a small amount of grated garlic to the Japanese leek in Step 3 enhances the flavors.Cut the thin omelet into diamonds to make it resemble the dish served at the Imperial Court.
