I really love eating red-cooked beef from ready-to-eat packs, but I always felt they weren't that tasty 😂, so I decided to make it myself, and it turned out really delicious.

Blanch the beef short ribs.

Add a little oil to a pan and sauté the ginger, then add the beef short ribs and stir-fry. After a brief stir-fry, transfer to a stew pot, add the spice packet, rice wine, and water.

In an oiled pan, sauté the onion, then add the doubanjiang, rock sugar, and soy sauce. Stir until dissolved, then add to the stew pot. Once it boils, simmer on low heat for one hour.

After one hour, add the carrots and daikon radish and continue to simmer for another half hour.
