Methi Thepla (Gujarati: થેપલા) is a soft Indian flatbread typical of Gujarati cuisine. It is typically enjoyed as a breakfast , or can be eaten for snacks. It can also be served as a side dish with a meal, or as a snack in the late afternoon. Thepla can be made with wheat flour, besan (gram flour), methi (fenugreek leaves) and other spices. Thepla can be enjoyed together with dahi (yogurt), red garlic chutney and chhundo (sweet mango pickle). Thepla with yoghurt and pickle. It is typically enjoyed as a breakfast , or can be eaten for snacks.
This methi na thepla recipe is perfect for those kids who do not like to eat leafy vegetables. If making for kids adjust the spice level accordingly. Spread mango chunda lightly on the thepla, make roll out of it and give it to kids. They will happily eat it. This way you can include greens in their diet.

First of all, fenugreek leaves, green coriander and green garlic are finely chopped and washed with clean water. Now in a large bowl add wheat flour, gram flour, yogurt and ginger + garlic + green chilli paste.

Now add fenugreek leaves, green coriander leaves and green garlic.

Now add red chilli powder, coriander cumin powder, turmeric powder, roasted cumin powder, garam masala, asafoetida and salt. Now add carom seeds, white sesame seeds and sugar.

Now add oil and fresh cream for moin and mix everything well by hand. Now add a little water as required and make soft dough.

Now cover this dough with cloth and rest for 15 to 20 minutes. Then after giving rest to the dough, knead the dough again by hand. Make a large uniform lump of balls this dough.

Now coat this loaf in wheat flour and weave it in the shape of round. Now put oil or ghee on a hot tawa and fry it on both sides. And immediately place the Thepla in a hot cash roll, one on top of the other, so that the Thepla is very soft.

Now our Methi (fenugreek) Thepla is ready to serve. Serve them with mango or lime pickles, or potato sabzi or you can just have them plain with Indian chai.
