Bathua saag tempered with ajwain,ginger & red chilli powder

In winters we enjoy different varieties of saag. I like bathua and cook many dishes with it.This is one of my favourite recipe which I learnt from my friend who is from Bihar .In this recipe I tempered bathua saag with ginger,carom seeds and red chilli powder.Rice flour aalan gives it a nice taste. Boil bathua saag and cut finely.Keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan,add cumin seeds,red chilli powder 1/2 t.spoon., coriander powder and salt.Saute,Add chopped bathua saag.Add 3 cups of water and mix.

Take a bowl,mix rice flour and water.(1/2 cup)Add to the saag and mix.Cook it on low flame for 7-8 min.

For the tadka - heat Desi ghee in a tadka pan,add carom seeds,ginger,saute.Now add red chilli powder and switch off the gas.Pour this tadka in the saag and cover.

Your bathua saag is ready to serve.Serve it with roti or rice.
