Sweet and Sour Chicken Goujon's

It's not those lovely Chinese Chicken Balls , but is a alternative . Not easy too get the flour well seasoned before dipping the washed chopped Chicken Breast Portions in the seasoned flour - is nice too dip the cooked chicken goujon's in the Sweet and Sour sauce though . Halve the Sweet and Sour sauce into 2 small bowls and divide the cooked chicken goujon's into 2 equal amounts .

Preheat the oven to 150 Gas Mark 2

Pour Vegetable Oil into a large Wok and then make the Cooking Oil very hot - once achieved turn too the lowest simmer

Chop chicken breasts into small pieces and then place them all into a large mixing bowl, add cold tap water into the large mixing bowl and then discard of the water down the sink and then rinse the chicken again - and so on

Add flour too a Dinner Plate or better still a mixing bowl and then season the flour with Paprika, salt and pepper

Beat 3 hen eggs in a mixing bowl

Create Breadcrumbs by putting slices of bread in a Food Processor, or use Shop bought Breadcrumbs and place into a large mixing bowl

Put a cube of sliced bread into the hot Vegetable Oil - turn the hob up too the highest setting - when cube of bread brown's a little - quickly dip some of the chopped chicken breasts into the seasoned flour and then dip into the beaten hen eggs and then into the Breadcrumbs - repeat for 4 or 5 and then place as much as 5 raw chicken goujon's into the very hot Vegetable Oil and deep fry for 2 to 3 minutes depending on the size of the chopped chicken breasts

Place cooked deep fried chicken goujon's onto a Baking Tray and then keep warm in the oven at Gas Mark 2. If making for 2 people deep fry all the raw chicken goujon's (it makes a lot as shown in my Photo). Need to rest the cooked Chicken Goujon's in the oven for 10 minutes, does not matter if most have longer than a 10 minute rest in the warm oven

Open a jar of Shop bought Sweet and Sour sauce and then place the contents into a Saucepan and then mainly heat through gently on the hob and then serve the Sweet and Sour sauce in some way with your cooked crispy Chicken Goujon's
