Stuffed Baguette for Appetizers
I recently saw this recipe online and it reminded me of my Italian grandmother who used to make it for us all the time. Prepare it the day before.
Steps
- 1
Mix the softened butter, cream cheese, and mustard. Add the hard-boiled eggs, chopped into small pieces, the pickles, finely chopped, the diced ham, and the shredded Swiss cheese. Stir well to combine everything.
- 2
Set aside. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Meanwhile, slice the baguette in half lengthwise and remove the soft bread from the center.
- 3
Fill the inside of the baguette with the mixture, then close it tightly. Wrap the baguette tightly in aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
- 4
After 20 minutes, remove the baguette from the oven and let it cool. Place it in the freezer overnight (at least 6 hours).
- 5
Take the baguette out of the freezer, remove the foil, and let it thaw but not completely. Using an electric knife, cut into thin slices. Serve chilled.
