In a large bowl, combine the mushrooms, green peas, a little turmeric, 1 teaspoon oil, and whole wheat flour. Mix well. Heat oil in a pan, add the mushroom and peas mixture, and sauté on medium heat. Meanwhile, make a tomato paste.

Remove the sautéed mushrooms and peas and set aside. Add the remaining oil to the pan and heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add onions and asafoetida, and sauté until the onions turn light golden brown.

Add the spices and sauté. Then add the tomato paste.

Add salt and a little chili flakes, mix, and cook until the oil separates. Add the mushrooms and peas back in, cover, and cook on low heat for 3–4 minutes.

Add the paneer and cream, mix, and cook on low heat for 1 minute, stirring continuously.

Transfer to a serving bowl. Garnish with cream, chili flakes, and chopped cilantro. Serve with paratha, roti, or naan.
