Ingredients

  • 2-3big onions sliced
  • Big bowl of tiger prawns
  • 1/2 cupchopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 TSPGaram Masala
  • 2-3big tomatoes sliced unevenly
  • 2 cupsthoroughly washed rice
  • 1tspLess than haldi powder
  • 1/2 TSPKutilal Red Chilli Powder
  • 2big heaped tbsp crushed gingler garlic
  • 2-3slit green chillies
  • Whole spices:
  • 1 tbsp thin Shah jeera
  • 1 tbspwhole black pepper
  • 1-2 stickscinnamon
  • 2-3bay leaves
  • 3-4green elaichi
  • 1-2 black Elaichi
  • 4-5lavang
  • as required Ghee/oil (a little extra so rice doesn't become too clumpy)

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat ghee/oil.
    Add whole garam masala. Sputter.
    Add Ginger garlic paste.
    Add turmeric powder.
    Add coriander leaves.
    1/2 TSP Garam masala.
    Add onions/tomatoes and salt and cook till tomatoes are soft and oil separates.

  2. 2

    Turn flame super low.
    Mildly summer from here on.
    Add prawns. Cook for less than a minute.
    Add rice.
    Mix nicely.
    Cover and let cook without stirring on lowest possible flame.
    Done.
