Mix buttermilk and besan flour in a bowl and whisk to make a lump free batter.keep it a side.

Once the batter is done, heat ghee in a pan.

Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves, a pinch of asafoetida and dry red chillies in the hot ghee and let them crackle for a few seconds.

Add ginger, green chilli paste, salt and sugar in it and mix well.

Add mixture in a pan and cook on medium heat until it comes to a boil.Stir it continuously.

Let the kadhi cook for 15-20 minutes until it thickens slightly and the besan is cooked.

Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve the kadhi with Steamed Rice or Gujarati Khichdi.
