Cheddar Cheese Scones

I thought since I made sweet ones, I might as well try making savory ones. After trying them, I still prefer the sweet ones, but my dad loved these. He ate six in one go!

I thought since I made sweet ones, I might as well try making savory ones. After trying them, I still prefer the sweet ones, but my dad loved these. He ate six in one go!
Steps
- 1
Sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- 2
Take the butter out of the refrigerator and cut it into small cubes. Add it to the dry ingredients. Grate the cheddar cheese and add it along with the grated Parmesan cheese into the bowl.
- 3
Use a fork to press the butter into the flour, then use your hands to rub the butter into the flour until it forms larger crumbs.
- 4
Gradually add the cold milk from the refrigerator in small amounts, mixing with a fork until combined.
- 5
When the dough is almost formed, place it on a table. Use a scraper to smooth it out, fold it twice with the help of plastic wrap, then cover with plastic wrap and roll it out to the desired thickness with a rolling pin.
- 6
If the dough feels too wet, wrap it and freeze for about 20 minutes, then cut into pieces or use a mold to shape.
- 7
Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops of the scones with a little beaten egg or milk.
- 8
Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes, and they're done!
