  9. 💡 As needed - Lemon juice
  10. 💡Tobasco
  11. 💡Sweet chili sauce
  12. 💡Finely chopped fresh herbs

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Place butter, garlic & pinch of white pepper powder in a saucepan. Simmer over low heat for 5-6 minutes. Turn of the heat. Leave to cool then add freshly chopped herb (of your choice). Mix well. Refrigerate until almost solid but still slightly soft.

  2. 2

Preheat oven broiler on medium high heat.

Place the shells on oven safe tray or oven safe serving dish.

Alternatively, If you want to secure the shells so they won't slide easily, you can cover the tray with a good layer rock salt, this will help the shell to stay nestled. We don't have that much salt so we skip this method. You can also use crunched aluminum foil.

  3. 3

Next, top each shell with butter mixture. Sprinkle some Romano or Parmesan cheese on top. Just a dash, not much.

Broiling - Place the tray close to the broiler (top rack 6 inches from the broiler) To prevent smoke build-up, slightly open the oven & keep a close eye on the oysters. Cook under the broiler for 6-8mins or until golden & bubbly. Remove from the heat. Allow to cool, you can enjoy them as it is or with a dash of lemon, tobasco or any sweet sauce of your choice.

  4. 4

Grilling -Alternatively, you can also grill these oysters for 4-5 minutes until bubbling or lightly golden.
