My father used to buy jamun fruits for Krishna jayathi celebration. Mom used to make halwa.
I could get only frozen fruit from the near by Indian Grocery store.
Jamun fruits are rich in healthy nutrients. ; godd for digestive health, heart, liver, skin, eyes – good for controls blood sugar level, good for diabetic patients. Fruits have anti oxidants that would lower the risk of cancer.

  • 1 cupjamun fruit pulp
  • 3/4 cupSugar
  • 3/4 cupCustard powder
  • 3/4 cupWater
  • 4 tbspGhee
  • 1 tbspCardamom powder
  • 1/4 cupDry roasted cashews
  • 20Almonds, to garnish

    Collect the necessary materials. Place near the cooking area

    Collect the necessary materials. Place near the cooking area

    Place the cashews on a microwave safe plate and dry roast for 2 minutes. Remove the seed from the jamun fruit ; use only the pulp
    Powder the sugar in a mixer. Puree with novel fruit. Add custard powder and mix. Taste. If you want more sweetness, add powdered sugar as needed. In a skillet over a low heat, pour jamun puree with water; keep stirring, After it thickens a little, add 1 tablespoon of ghee, cardamom powder and cashew nuts ; keep stirring After it absorbs the ghee, add a tbsp ghee.

    Continue cooking over simmering heat with stirring. Eventually, halwa will separate from the sides of the skillet and curl up. Stir in the remaining ghee and turn off the stove.
    Grease a plate. line with parchment paper, pour the halwa over it and trim the edges. Let cool for 30 minutes. Slice it with a sharp knife

    Garnish with almonds on top of the slices. "Krishnarpanamastu."Enjoy it and share it with your close relatives and celebrate Krishna Jayanti
