Chickpea pasta is a famous Roman dish which is nutritious and delicious and made with Chickpea, pasta in tomato base gravy. However there are many different versions of this dish.

Chickpea pasta is a famous Roman dish which is nutritious and delicious and made with Chickpea, pasta in tomato base gravy. However there are many different versions of this dish.

Wash and soak chickpeas overnight and then boil in pressure cooker. Drain water from it. You can use canned chickpeas too. Boil pasta in enough water with little salt and drain it.

In a pan heat oil. Add chopped onion and saute for 2-3 minutes. Add capsicum and carrot and saute for 3-4 minutes. Add crushed garlic and saute until onion turns brown.

Now add boiled chickpeas. Add tomato puree and stir well. Add salt, black pepper powder, chili flakes and Italian seasoning. Mix well. Stir and cook until oil starts separating at top.

Add 1/2 cup water. Add chopped parsley or coriander leaves, chopped basil leaves and cooked pasta. Adjust salt. Stir well. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Finally drizzle 1-2 teaspoon olive oil over it and serve it.
