Heat oil in a non stick pan. Chop onion. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf and onion to the pan and sauté till lightly browned.

Add ginger, turmeric powder, tomato and a little water and mix. Sauté till tomato becomes pulpy. Add peas and mix well. Add ¼ cup water and salt.

Add cumin powder and coconut slices and mix well.Add green chillies, garam masala powder and mix. Cover and cook on medium heat for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
