Ingredients

26-30 minutes
4 serve
  1. 2 cupsDried Yellow Peas soaked and drained and boiled
  2. 1Onion 1 medium
  3. 2 tablespoonsOil
  4. 1Bay leaf 1
  5. 1/2 teaspoonCumin seeds
  6. 1/4 teaspoonTurmeric powder
  7. 1 teaspoonGinger finely chopped
  8. 2 teaspoonsRoasted cumin powder
  9. 2Tomato chopped 1 medium
  10. 1/4 cupFresh coconut sliced
  11. as requiredSalt to taste
  12. 2Green chillies slit
  13. 1/2 teaspoonGaram masala powder

Steps

26-30 minutes
  1. 1

    Heat oil in a non stick pan. Chop onion. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf and onion to the pan and sauté till lightly browned.

  2. 2

    Add ginger, turmeric powder, tomato and a little water and mix. Sauté till tomato becomes pulpy. Add peas and mix well. Add ¼ cup water and salt.

  3. 3

    Add cumin powder and coconut slices and mix well.Add green chillies, garam masala powder and mix. Cover and cook on medium heat for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
