Steps
- 1
Since brown rice and black quinoa have a chewier texture, soak them for about 30 minutes beforehand (Tip: I like to use a strainer to soak and wash the rice, which makes it much easier)
- 2
After washing and soaking the rice, pour it into the rice cooker. Sprinkle turmeric powder to taste (we usually sprinkle it 5 or 6 times, and even my four-year-old daughter enjoys this flavor). According to reports, turmeric releases nutrients when it meets oil, so add a few drops of vegetable oil (I use grapeseed oil from home)
- 3
Add about 1 1/5 cups of water to the pot. Place it in the rice cooker and add 2 cups of water to the outer pot to start cooking the rice. After the rice cooker switches off, wait 10-15 minutes before opening the lid.
- 4
The quinoa will settle, so gently stir the cooked rice to release steam and moisture. Your beautiful and delicious turmeric three-color quinoa rice is ready 😊

Just a note: If you don't like the taste of turmeric, you can skip the steps of adding turmeric powder and vegetable oil. The three-color quinoa rice is still healthy and delicious!
