Ingredients

  1. Just under 1 tsp sea salt
  2. 2 sticksFROZEN UNSALTED butter
  3. 2 3/4 Cupall purpose flour
  4. extra flour for dusting
  5. 1/2 cupICE water

Cooking Instructions

    Sift flour and put in bowl

  2. 2

    Measure 2 ¾ cups from the sifted flour and put in in large bowl. Then place in FREEZER.
    (Can also sprinkle some cinnamon and powdered sugar into the sifted flour for a hint of flavor!)

    Grate 2 sticks of FROZEN butter using big holes. Then chop what you have left if you get close to your fingers!

    Add butter shavings to FROZEN FLOUR and toss with forks like a salad to coat butter and return to freezer.

    Freeze for 15 min.

    Add 4 Tbs ice water to the flour/butter mix and stir well with a fork. Be sure to get the flour at the bottom of the bowl incorporated

    Continue to add water tablespoon by tablespoon, mixing well between each splash, until you can lightly pinch the mixture and it holds together in a dough.

    Shape the mix into a 6"x3" disk and wrap well with plastic wrap. Let chill 3 hours in fridge. (Preferably leave in fridge overnight)

    Separate into 2 balls and roll out to use in your favorite recipes! (Makes 2 crusts for 1 pie, or 2 1-crust pies!

    Can be frozen up to 3 months - just place in airtight container. Let thaw in fridge 24 hrs prior to use.
