Ingredients

1/2 an hour
4-6 servings
  1. 1/4 cup eachchana daal, green moong dhuli, arhar daal, malka chilke wali daal. Washed and Soaked in water for half an hour
  2. 3 cupswater and some more
  3. 2 table spoonghee
  4. 1/2 teaspoon each zeera, haldi, mirch and kashmiri mirch, hing
  5. 3/4tomatoes paste
  6. 1/2 teaspoonginger grated
  7. 1/2 teaspoonginger green chillinpaste
  8. as requiredSalt to taste
  9. as requiredHara dhaniya for garnishing
  10. Tadka
  11. 1onion cut into thin pieces
  12. 7/8cloves garlic cut into thin pieces
  13. 3 tablespoonghee for tempering

Steps

1/2 an hour
  1. 1

    In a cooker put soaked daal, grated ginger, haldi and salt
    Pressure cook it for 2-3 whistles

    In a kadai put ghee, add in zeera, hing, once it spluttersput kashmiri mirch and immediately tomato paste
    Flame will be medium low

  3. 3

    Cook it for 4-7 minutes, once done, ghee appears on aabove the paste then add cooked daal and stirr
    Here water is added as per the requirement, it should not be too thick nor watery
    Cook daal for another 3-4 minutes
    Switch off the flame

    Make tadka
    In a tadka pan heat ghee and roast in onion and garlic til
    It turns little browish
    Switch off the flame and immediately put it on daal and cover it so that smell remains inside
    Now garnish it with hara dhaniya
