Ingredients

4-6 servings
  1. Chicken:
  2. 4chicken breasts, cut into small chunks
  3. Salt and pepper
  4. 1 cupcornstarch
  5. 3large eggs
  6. Canola or vegetable oil, for pan frying
  7. Sauce:
  8. 3/4 cuphoney
  9. 3/4 cuplow sodium soy sauce
  10. 1/2 cupbrown sugar
  11. 1/2 cupketchup
  12. 1/2 cuprice wine vinegar
  13. 4 clovesgarlic, minced
  14. 1 tbsp.cornstarch
  15. 1 tsp.sesame oil
  16. Sesame seeds, for garnish

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Heat the oil in a large, deep skillet over med-high heat. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Get 2 separate bowls and place the cornstarch in one and whisk the eggs in the other. Dip the chicken into the cornstarch, then the egg, then back into the cornstarch. Once the oil is hot, cook the chickens in batches until golden and crispy. Then set it on a towel lined plate and let the grease drain off.

  2. 2

While cooking your chicken, make the sauce. Whisk all the sauce ingredients except the sesame seeds and set it aside. Once all the chicken is fried, place it in a greased 9x13" baking pan and pour the sauce over it. Toss it around and place it in the oven for 30-45 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. Stir every 10 minutes so the chicken gets evenly coated. When it's done, sprinkle sesame seeds evenly over the top of the chicken.

I love to bake and to try out new recipes! I'm always on the lookout for simple dinners for busy weeknights. A lot of the recipes I post on here are ones I've found on Pinterest or from different bloggers, and that I've tried and really enjoyed, but I always reference to where I got the recipe from in the recipe description and the pictures are my own. If there's no source listed, then it's a rare recipe that I came up with. I have two wonderful kids and I hope to pass on my love of cooking and baking to them.

Great recipe! I would use a little less vinegar. Very tasty!
