"Dry Fried" Green Beans w/ Balsamic Dressing

A variation on https://www.seriouseats.com/sichuan-dry-fried-green-bean-broiled-food-lab-recipe
Equipment:
Bowl big enough to toss 1 lb of green beans in
Sheet pan that can go under broiler
Tips:
1. If frying shallots yourself I like to do that first and then use the oil I fried shallots in for the recipe and dressing.
2. A store-bought balsamic dressing with some soy sauce added would work too I think
3. If using frozen green beans let thaw and dry off w/ a paper towel before tossing/broiling

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Place oven rack in top position, just under broiler
- 2
Heat broiler on high for a few minutes
- 3
Line a sheet pan big enough to fit green beans with foil (for easy clean up)
- 4
Place green beans in a bowl with 1 tbsp of oil, salt, and pepper and toss to coat the green beans evenly
- 5
Spread green beans out in a single layer on sheet pan
- 6
Place sheet pan under broiler until green beans start to look browned in spots and blistered (2-5 minutes depending on your broiler).
- 7
Remove from oven and shut off broiler, if not serving right away keep on sheet pan to reheat later
- 8
Prepare the dressing
- 9
In a bowl or a plastic container big enough to hold all dressing ingredients and not be filled over halfway up combine all of the above dressing ingredients and shake until combined, if using a bowl whisk until combined (you can even use a fork for this). Plastic container is easiest because you should only have to shake it for 15 seconds or so.
- 10
To Serve
- 11
Re-heat green beans if cold, mix dressing if separated, toss green beans with dressing (either on sheet pan, in bowl from earlier, on a serving plate, etc).
- 12
Top with fried shallot/onion if using.

Strawberry Spinach Salad with Soy Worcestershire Dressing Strawberry Spinach Salad with Soy Worcestershire Dressing
This is a kid favorite salad in our house as well as a crowd pleaser for picnics, BBQs, and potlucks for the tasty mashup of fruit, veg, and sweet savory tangy dressing.I'm making it for Thanksgiving this year to make sure my teenaged son gets plenty of veg with that side of bacon he asked for . ;)Here in California, we get strawberries pretty much year round, though they tend to be better in Spring. If it's not strawberry season where you live, a mildly tart apple or firm pear cut into small chunks are both great substitutes. x -

Adjust the times depending on the thickness of the chicken meat, your cooking equipment and so on. For 2 to 4 servings. Recipe by caramel-cookie cookpad.japan -
Green Onions with Kimchi Dressing Green Onions with Kimchi Dressing
I wanted to use the bulbs of the green onions in something. In the end I tried making an imitation of a dish that I had seen in a Korean supermarket and came up with this simple kimchi. The bulbs of the green onions that I used are far bigger than those you usually find in a supermarket, they were about the size of mini-onions. If you're using small green onions, then you just need to boil them for 2-3 minutes. I used the Momoya brand kimchi sauce. Recipe by Kourin cookpad.japan -

I love trying heirloom varieties of beans and wanted to create a bright salad with interesting, contrasting textures. I used San Franciscano beans, which are imported from Mexico by the company Rancho Gordo.
