Amla ki subji/ Indian Gooseberry Subji

Amla ki subji/ Indian Gooseberry Subji
Steps
- 1
Wash amla thoroughly in running water. Mark cuts in amla with knife at a smaller distance so that while cooking it gets coated with all dry masala nicely.
- 2
Heat mustard oil. Add asafoetida. Saute for 30 seconds. Now add all dry masale and saute for 30 seconds.
- 3
Add amla with cut marks and mix with all masala by tossing.
- 4
Saute for 2-3 minutes while stirring. Now add 2 tb spoon water and cover the lid and cook for 7 minutes on low flame.
- 5
Check by piercing a fork. If it is soft, it is ready. I have added 1 tb spoon water more and cooked for another 2 minutes.
- 6
Serve it with any meal like pickle or as side dish. In winter season amla is very healthy and nutritious. I prepare this, almost every week as it is very healthy.
