Start by preparing the herbal soup mix. Take the herbs out of the packet and give them a quick rinse to remove any dust. Place them in a pot, add 2 cups water (500 ml) and 3 1/2 tablespoons rice wine (50 ml). Bring to a boil over medium heat. - 2
While the herbs are boiling, prepare the shrimp. Make sure the shrimp are fully thawed before removing the vein. Use a toothpick to pierce the second segment of the shrimp and pull out the vein. Rinse the shrimp in salt water, then rinse again with clean water. Add the shrimp to the pot with the herbs and cook for 5 minutes.
Salt water ratio: 1 teaspoon salt to 1 2/3 cups water (400 ml). - 3
When all the shrimp have turned red and are gently boiling, add the soaked and drained goji berries. Cook for 1 more minute.

Once cooked, remove all the shrimp and place them in an airtight container. Don't leave them in the hot broth or the shrimp will get tough. Let the herbal broth cool completely, then pour it over the shrimp in the container. Seal and refrigerate for at least 8 hours. The flavor is even better after 1–2 days. This method is simple and convenient, so you can enjoy delicious drunken shrimp at home anytime without having to buy it pre-made.
