Methi Thepla

I have uploaded various types of paratha. Now I have made methi thepla...It is a Gujarati dish...made with mehi, besan, ghee...Methi recipes helps to control the cholesterol. Basically a roti recipe from Gujarati cuisine, but very well popular all over india. It can be easily preserved for 3 days in room temperature. it is prepared very similar to methi paratha recipe, however besan or gram flour is added to make it soft.

First wash methi leaves properly twice or thrice with salt and haldi powder. Once it is done then drain the water. Shredded the leaves in to small pieces....Then keep aside. For 2 persons take 1 cup whole wheat flour, salt, haldi powder, red chilly powder, dhania powder, cumin powder, 2 tbsp besan and 1 tbsp oil. Mix..it properly. Add water and knead a semi stiff dough...Once it is done. Grease the dough with oil and rest for 3 minutes...

Now heat tawa. From the dough take a small ball. Dust with wheat flour and roll to like a chappati... now on a hot tawa place the paratha and cook for a minute... furthermore, when the base is partly cooked, flip the paratha. Apply ghee with a brush and press slightly both the sides. Flip again once or twice till both the sides are cooked properly.

Finally, serve methi paratha with raita and pickle.
