Easy delicious lamb kaftas. They can be eaten by themselves, with flat bread, flavoured rice, or a simple Salad.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Grind all ingredients together in a food processor for about a minute or mix them by hand
- 2
Put the lamb kafta mixture in the fridge overnight or for at least 4-6 hours
- 3
Soak wooden skewers in water. If you are using metal skewers then you can skip this step.
- 4
Take the lamb kafta mixture out of the fridge.
- 5
Take a handful of the lamb mixture and make it into medium sized round meat balls. Pierce the skewers through the meat balls and gently flatten them to fit 70% of the skewer. Use your index finger and middle finger in a scissoring motion to create a wave pattern with the meat.
- 6
Grill the lamb skewers on medium heat for 3-4 minutes on each side or until cooked. Drizzle a pinch of Sumac on each of the kaftas and cook for 30 seconds on each side.
- 7
Drizzle oil on the long green chillies and grill them aside the lamb kaftas - they are a great side compliment for the kaftas (This is step is optional)
- 8
Take the kaftas off the grill, after that they are ready to be served.
