Pumpkin Flower tawa fry

One of the most sought after Oriya delicacies, made out of pumpkin flowers, makes for a perfect side dish with rice-daal/Pakhala.
It’s difficult to find pumpkin flowers in cities these days, I plant few seeds in the pot to cook the pumpkin leaves/flowers/stem etc.
Every part of the plant is edible like: flowers(male flowers only, female will bear the fruits), leaves, vines, fruits, seeds! Amazing plant, isn’t it?

Steps

Clean the flowers by taking out the Center and keeping only the petals.

Soak the ingredients under rice paste for half an hour and grind to a paste. Mix the paste, besan, salt & turmeric. Coat the flowers with the paste.

Heat mustard oil in tawa, roast the coated flowers from both sides by flipping.
