This is a classic Filipino dish often served for breakfast withf garlic fried rice (see my garlic rice recipe) and sunny side up eggs. It's very easy to make and my families favorite.

Ingredients

15 min cook 8 hrs marinate
4 serving
  1. 1/2 cupsoy sauce
  2. 1/4 cupcalamansi juice or lemon juice
  3. 1 headgarlic, peeled and minced
  4. 2 tablespoonssugar
  5. 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  6. 1/4 teaspoonpepper
  7. 3 poundsbeef sirloin, thinly sliced
  8. canola oil

Cooking Instructions

15 min cook 8 hrs marinate

    In a non-reactive bowl, combine soy sauce, calamansi juice, garlic, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir until sugar and salt are dissolved.

    Add beef and massage to fully coat with marinade. Keep overnight in the refrigerator to cure. Drain meat from marinade.

    Preheat grill on high

    Add beef in a single layer and cook, turning on sides, for about 3 to 5 minutes or until liquid (meat will dispel liquid) is almost absorbed.

    Remove from grill and repeat steps 4 until all meat is cooked

  6. 6

    Cut into serving portions. Serve hot with vinegar, onion and fish sauce dipping sauce.
