Ingredients

3 people
  1. For Kofta - 4 - Lotus stem (peeled and grated)
  2. 1- Potato(peeled and grated)1- green chilli (finely chopped)
  3. 1tb.spoon.-Ginger(grated)
  4. 2tb.spoon.-Gram flour
  5. 1t.spoon.-Salt
  6. 1/2t.spoon.- Red chilli powder
  7. For the gravy-1 - Onion(cut into pieces)
  8. 2-Tomato(cut into pieces)
  9. 1- Green chilli
  10. 1/4th t.spoon.Assafoetida/hing
  11. 1/2t.spoon.-Cumin
  12. 1t.spoon.- Red chilli powder (kashmiri)
  13. 1t.spoon.- Coriander powder
  14. 1/2t.spoon.Garam masala
  15. 1tb.spoon.- coriander leaves
  16. Oil for frying

  1. 1

    Squeeze all water from Lotus stem and potato.Mix all the ingredients of the kofta.Make lemon size balls.(12)

    Heat oil in a pan,deep fry all koftas until golden brown on low to medium heat.Keep them aside.

    For the gravy - Grind onion,green chilli and tomato.

    Heat oil in a pan,add hing,cumin and the ground onion paste.Cook it for 7-8 min.or until the raw smell of onion disappears. Add all the spices except garam masala.Cook it for another 5 min.Add 2.cup water.Cook it on low heat for 6-7 min.Add koftas,cook it for 2 min.

    Sprinkle garam masala and coriander leaves.Your tasty Lotus stem kofta curry is ready to serve.
