This phirni making is mandatory in our home , specially in pithori amavasya celebration just before ganesh chaturthi.
Steps

Chop nuts and dryfruits and fry it in little bit ghee till crisp, then keep it aside.

Soak indrayani rice for 15 minutes, then grind it in mixer grinder and keep aside.

Boil milk in pan then add sugar and boil it again letsugar dissolve completely.

Then add ground rice and cook it in milk for 10 minutes.
Add fried chopped dryfruits and stir it well. - 5
Add saffron strands and cook for another 5 minutes. And our phirni is ready to serve.

Serve it as prasadam first to celebrate pithori.
You can serve it along with hot puries.
