Zucchini with Bonito Flakes, Mayonnaise, and Wasabi

*This is my favorite way to eat zucchini. I could double the recipe and still eat the whole thing by myself.

*As I wrote in Step 2, I recommend that you add the dashi soy sauce at the end so you can adjust the flavor. Be careful not to add too much.
*Please adjust the seasoning according to the size of the zucchini.
*Mayonnaise has oil in it, but if you use light mayo, it'll have fewer calories. For 2 servings served in small dishes. Recipe by putimiko

Ingredients

2 servings
  • 1Zucchini
  • 1/2 tspSalt
  • 1 tbsp●Mayonnaise (light mayonnaise is also fine)
  • 2 cmplus ●Grated wasabi
  • 1half a pack ●Bonito flakes
  • 1●Grated garlic
  • 1●Black pepper
  • 1few drops Dashi soy sauce (or mentsuyu)

Steps

  1. 1

    Slice the zucchini into 1-2 mm rounds. Mix the salt and set aside for 10 minutes. Afterwards, rinse off the salt and squeeze the zucchini with your hands to drain excess water.

    Combine all ● ingredients in a bowl. Taste, and season with dashi soy sauce. (It would be too strong if you added it from the beginning).
