Lentil Lovers Hummus

I love lentils and I love Hummus, so why not put the two together! I had so much fun making this and my family ate all of it in one night. I was kind of envisioning an Indian vibe on the traditional Greek hummus. I didn't have tahini, so I substituted with a paste of cashews and sesame seed oil. The goat cheese really makes this creamy and nice on the pallet. I have decided to go on a hummus experience and I will be testing different nuts and flavors with legumes/beans. I topped mine off with diced kalamata olives and olive oil but feel free to use whatever you like. I hope you try it and if you do please share your thoughts with me. Let me know if you used a different type of nut with this recipe and how it came out! Thanks for stopping by!

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Measure all dry ingredients into a small bowl and set aside
- 2
Rinse lentils and cover with a few inches of water > bring to boil snd stir > cover and simmer for 30 minutes > test for tenderness every 5 minutes if not done after 30
- 3
With a slotted spoon take out 4 cups of lentils and drain > cover lightly and let drain for a few minutes (you don't want soggy hummus)
- 4
Blend almonds, sesame oil and dry seasonings in food processor until creamy
- 5
Add lentils, olive oil and goat cheese then blend for your life! I made mine with an immersion blender so I used a bowl but you can do it all in a food processor as well
- 6
Add lemon juice and blend well > taste for seasoning and add more lemon juice or salt if desired
- 7
Serve immediately and top with olive oil, kalamata olives, nuts and smoked paprika
- 8
Optional - cut pita bread or any thin flat bread into strip and fry in a little oil of your choice for 20 to 30 seconds on each side until golden and crispy.

This hummus is very easy to make and uses basic kitchen ingredients. We've tried it with black beans too when out if chickpeas and it with amazing (even though the colour was strange!). It’s very thick and creamy. Ours is very thick but if you want is thinner, splash in a little cold water to your food processor. Because one of us has turned 9 we made this hummus to eat with party food 🎉. We hope you will enjoy it!#january2026 The Health Sisters -
