Broken wheat or Dalia is rich source of magnesium amongst the cereal category which helps to maintain a regular heartbeat. Ingredients

20 minutes
3 to 4 servings
  1. 1 cupBroken wheat
  2. 1 cupfresh curd
  3. 1red chilli
  4. 1/2 Tspsalt
  5. 1 Tspsplit urad daal
  6. 1 Tspcumin seeds
  7. 1 Tspwhole black pepper
  8. 4-5fried cashews
  9. 5-6fried raisins
  10. 1green chilli chopped
  11. 2 Tbspcoriander leaves
  12. 6-7curry leaves
  13. 2 Tbspsunflower cooking oil

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Heat 1 Tbsp cooking oil in a skillet and and and allow to splutter cumin seeds. Add black pepper and broken wheat and roast for 3 minutes on low flame.

    Add 2 cups of water and salt. Mix well. Cook for 8 -10 minutes on low medium flame until broken wheat absorb all the water and soft. Remove from heat, allow to cool and add curd. Mix and set aside

    Add 2 cups of water and salt. Mix well. Cook for 8 -10 minutes on low medium flame until broken wheat absorb all the water and soft. Remove from heat, allow to cool and add curd. Mix and set aside

    Heat 1 Tbsp vegetable oil, add mustard seeds and allow to crackle. Add urad daal and cook till light golden brown.

    Then mix dry red chilli, chopped green chilli, curry leaves and fry till aromatic. Mix the curd broken wheat, grated ginger, mango ginger and mix well.

    Garnish with roasted cashews, raisins and chopped green coriander leaves before serving. Njoy. Thanks

Tried your recipe today. It tasted nice. Can the dalia be roasted without oil? Also, ginger is not there in your list of ingredients.
