Wash the lentils well and drain them.

Chop the onion, potato, tomatoes, carrots, and garlic, and add them to the lentils.

Cover them with water and add the butter, salt, cumin, chili powder, and don't forget the bouillon cube.

Cook the mixture on high heat until all the ingredients are cooked. It doesn't have to be dry; adjust the consistency to your liking.

Let it cool, then blend it in a blender.

Return the blended lentils to the pot, bring to a boil, then turn off the heat. In a separate pan, sauté the finely chopped onion in butter and oil until golden, then add it on top of the lentils.
