Meanwhile, in a pot, heat a tablespoon of oil and sauté the onion. Add the garlic, ginger, remaining whole spices, and dried limes. Then add the chicken and stir until it changes color. Add the carrots, a teaspoon of salt, and chicken spices. Stir over low heat until the rice absorbs half of the water.

Add the rice, which is three-quarters cooked, with its water to the chicken to finish cooking together. Let it cook for about 15 minutes on low heat.
