Steps
- 1
Add salt to the eggs and beat them with an electric whisk until they are white and thick.
- 2
Mix in the sugar.
- 3
Combine the milk and apple juice.
- 4
The apple juice is used as a substitute for oil and to add moisture. It does not leave any taste or aroma.
- 5
Gently fold in the sifted flour.
Optionally, add finely chopped onions that have been microwaved for about 3 minutes with salt and pepper.
- 6
Line a mold with parchment paper, pour in half of the batter, arrange ham, cheese, vegetables, etc., and then pour in the remaining batter.
- 7
Drizzle ketchup and mayonnaise on top.
- 8
Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 30 minutes or until done.
- 9
← Baking time and temperature may vary depending on your oven, so adjust accordingly!
- 10
Recently, I switched to German organic baking powder (a product called 'Special Baking Powder'). Use about half the usual amount.
