Broken wheat Upma is a savory daliya(broken wheat) porridge. It is a quick, effortless, high-protein Indian breakfast recipe.

Firstly, heat a tbsp ghee in a pressure cooker and roast the broken wheat on medium heat until you get a roasted aroma of the broken wheat/dalia.Add 1 cup of water and pressure cook for 2 to 3 whistles and turn off the heat. Let it be cool and keep it aside.

Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add mustards seeds, cumin seeds, dry chilli, asafoetida and allow them to crackle.Add the chopped onions,ginger, green chilies and sauté until the onions are tender. Add all the chopped veggies and saute for 2 minutes. Add water and cook till soften. Add all the spices and mix it well.

Now add cooked broken wheat and salt. Stir for about a minute on medium heat.

Finally stir in the fresh coriander leaves into the Dalia Upma and serve hot.
