Ingredients

5 people
  1. 3 cupsall purpose flour
  2. 1tspn dry yeast
  3. 6 tbspsugar
  4. 1/3 cupCoconut milk or cream
  5. 1tspn candarmon powder
  6. 2 tbspghee or cooking oil
  7. Milk or water for kneading
  8. Cooking oil for frying

Cooking Instructions

    Take a clean bowl and put in flour,yeast,sugar,ghee or oil, cardamom,mix everything together until well combined.

    Make a well in the middle,put the coconut milk or cream and mix well
    Pour in milk or water bit by bit and knead the dough,it should not be sticky or too hard.let it rest for 15 minutes

    Once the dough rises,cut into 4 pieces,and shape it round,role the balls to 1/2inch thickness,each ball should be cut into 4 pieces..cover with clean towel and let them sit for 10mins.

    Meanwhile pour cooking oil in a deep frying pan and let it heat,put the back of a wooden spoon and if you see it bubbling,the oil is ready,deep fry each side for 3mins or until golden brown,repeat untill all the mahamri are done..

    And just like that yummy soft mahamri is ready,you can take it with ginger lemon tea or peagon peas/mbaazi in coconut and enjoy..Try it and let me know how it goes 😜
