Very crunchy and delicious. My Dad ate the whole dinner and he had 2 steaks and 2 cups of rice, with the green beans and potato salad.. ade me happy. He doesn't always eat much. He will be 86 this year.
Steps
- 1
Put the oil on to heat, I used a cast iron skillet to fry in. Add the cornstarch to a Ziploc bag, then set up a production line with the egg and water dredge. Season the flour with seasoned salt and pepper.
- 2
Salt and pepper the ground chuck and form into patties. Coat first with cornstarch. Then dredge into the egg, water mixture. Then mix the flour and spice and dredge in the seasoned flour.
- 3
Fry the patties for 4 minutes per side, till done. You may have to turn the steaks a few times. Move to a plate with paper towels to absorb excessive amounts of oil.
- 4
Drain all but 1/2 cup of the oil you fried the steaks in. Add a half of cup of the dredge flour to the skillet with the oil fried the steaks in. Add the chopped onions and cook stirring often. After 8 minutes add the broth and whisk till desired thickness. Serve over rice and the chicken fried hamburger steaks. I hope you enjoy!!!
