Ingredients

35 minutes
14 Bhakhri
  • 1 cuppearl millet flour
  • 1 cupwhole wheat flour
  • 4-5 tbspoil
  • 1 tbspginger garlic and green chilli paste
  • 2 tbspkasuri methi (dry Fenugreek leaves)
  • 1 tspasafoetida
  • 2 tspwhite sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tspcoriander cumin powder
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • 1 tspred chilli powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil OR ghee for roasting Bhakhri as per required

  1. 1

    First of all add pearl millet flour and wheat flour sifted through a sieve in a big pot

    Now heat oil in a pan, add ginger, garlic and green chilli paste to it and fry for 1 minute, add kasoori methi and asafoetida and mix and fry.

    Then add this hot mixture to the flour. Now add white sesame seeds, coriander cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt to this flour and mix well. Then add water little by little to this flour and make a hard dough. Then cover and rest this flour dough for 10 minutes.

    Now make a ball out of this flour dough and gently rolling the bhakhri with the rolling pin and cut it round with any lid. Then make another bhakhri in this way.

    Now heat a non-stick pan and place bhakri on it and press it with a stick from both sides and roast it. Then apply ghee or oil on top and roast bhakhri crispy.

    Now our very healthy and iron rich Bajra Methi Bhakhri is ready for serve. Serve with hot tea or pickle. You can also store this bhakhri in an airtight container for 1 month.
