Roasting the Sesame Seeds and Peanuts:
Dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan over medium heat until they turn golden brown and start to pop. Be sure to stir continuously to avoid burning.
Once roasted, remove the sesame seeds from the pan and set them aside.
In the same pan, dry roast the peanuts until they become slightly brown and aromatic. Once done, remove the skin of the peanuts by rubbing them between your palms.

Preparing the Jaggery Syrup:
In a separate heavy-bottomed pan, add the jaggery and a tablespoon of water.
Cook the jaggery over medium heat until it completely melts. Continue to cook until it forms a thick syrup. To check if the syrup is ready, drop a small amount into a bowl of cold water. If it forms a hard ball, the syrup is ready.

Mixing and Shaping the Burfi:
Once the jaggery syrup is ready, add the roasted sesame seeds, peanuts, and cardamom powder (if using) to the syrup.
Mix everything quickly and thoroughly, ensuring that the seeds and peanuts are evenly coated with the jaggery.
Grease a plate or a tray with ghee and pour the mixture onto it. Flatten the mixture evenly with a spatula.
Allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes but not completely harden. While it’s still warm,cut it into squares or diamond shape.
