Ingredients

3 to 4 servings
  1. 1chopped Onions
  2. 1chopped Tomatoes
  3. 1/4Grated Coconut
  4. 2Red Chili
  5. Salt to Taste
  6. 1 pinchasafoetida
  7. For Tempering
  8. 1 tablespoonOil
  9. 3-4 tablespoonMustard seeds & urad dal (split skinned black lentils)
  10. 5-7Curry leaves

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Heat the oil in thick bottom pan.

  2. 2

    Now, add mustard seeds, urad dal (split skinned black lentils)

  3. 3

    When Mustard split add asafoetida, red chili.

  4. 4

    Now add onions, sauté until onions become slightly brown.

  5. 5

    Add tomatoes, sauté until tomatoes becomes mushy.

  6. 6

    Now add grated coconut, Sauté for some minutes.

  7. 7

    To Grind add pinch of salt.

  8. 8

    Blend into Smooth Paste.

  9. 9

    For tempering, Heat the Oil, add mustard seeds, Curry leaves.

  10. 10

    Pour the tempering over the chutney.

  11. 11

    Finally, Coconut Tomato Chutney is ready with Hot Idli.
