  • 1 cupsemolina (about 160 grams)
  • 1 cupboiling water (about 240 ml)
  • 1 tablespoonclarified butter (ghee)
  • 4 tablespoonspowdered sugar, for serving
  • 2 tablespoonsmixed nuts, optional

    In a pot over medium heat, add the clarified butter and semolina. Stir well until all the semolina grains are coated with the butter.

    Add the boiling water, reduce the heat to low, and stir continuously.

    After adding the water, the mixture will become a bit doughy, then the water will evaporate as you keep stirring.

    As you continue stirring, the couscous grains will start to form and become distinct.

    Serve topped with powdered sugar and nuts. Some people enjoy it with soup, chicken, and vegetables, while others prefer it with milk and sugar. Enjoy!
