First clean the lal saag, wash and finely chopped. Keep aside.

Heat mustard oil in a kadai add kalonji, chopped green chilies, chopped garlic, ginger and saute few seconds. Now add chopped saag, turmeric powder, salt, mix it and cover and cook some times. Now saag will released some water.

After some times, then stir continuously on high flame to let the water evaporate. Once saag cook well and become dry then add poppy seeds and mix it properly.

Lal saag bhaja is ready to serve.
