Sage belongs to family Lamiaceae (or Mint family) and is an aromatic Herb just like Coleus and Rosemary. This family contains many culinary Herbs. Mint family members are usually aromatic, healthy and nutritious with a distinctive woody flavour.
Sage is one such member from this family and is widely being used in Herbal medicines since a long time. It was a traditional Herbal remedy in ancient Rome and Greece as well as in native American and Chinese medicine.

In today's times it's used for sore throats, Diabetes, high Cholesterol levels and memory loss. This Sage Tea that iam sharing here today is very useful to treat digestive discomforts. It is healthy to consume about 2-3 cups of it in a day and not more. As with every remedy or medicine, excess is always harmful. It is always better to use only the recommended dosages. Pregnant and lactating women should abstain from it. Not only in Tea, it can be used both in fresh and dried form as a culinary Herb. It can be added to dishes to enhance their flavour. You would definitely love to use it as desired in cooking a lot of healthy dishes.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
