📌 As a Gujarati, I prepared Dal Dhokli today. I hope you all will like it.
This recipe is dedicated to my MAA mother. She was a master chef of our family.
📌I learned from her how to cook delicious food even if we have fewer resources and fewer ingredients. This is an amazing art to satisfy someone's taste of buds and fulfill the appetite.
📌Myself introduces as LOVE TO COOK - SERVE WITH LOVE. ❤️❤️😊😊

Steps
- 1
Wash and soak both dals at least for 1 hour. In a pressure cooker, steam dal till 4 whistles blows. When cools completely, open cooker and churn or blend it in blender.
- 2
In a pan, pour dal, add water as needed, salt, kokam, jaggery, peanuts, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and chopped tomatoes. Boil for 10 minutes on a slow flame.
- 3
Take a small pan for tempering dal. Add ghee, mustard seeds, cinnamon, cloves, hing, curry leaves, ginger, and chilli. Pour hot tempering in boiling dal.
- 4
For Dhokli, take a mixing bowl, add both flour, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, hing, and oil, mix well. Knead a dough by gradually adding water.
- 5
Make equal size of balls. Roll it in big chapati. Just roast it for a couple of seconds on tawa. Don't overcook. Just remove stickiness.
- 6
Make cut in square or diamond shapes of each chapati as shown in picture. Now add it in boiling dal.
- 7
Cook it well. Periodically stir it. Add water as needed. Turn off gas. Lastly, add 1 tsp ghee, squeeze lemon juice, and sprinkle chopped coriander.
- 8
Serve hot. Enjoy it with masala peanuts, onions, and tomatoes, which enhances the taste of Dal Dhokli more.
