The famous Carpaccio is a non - veg dish that dates back to mid 1900 's when at Harry 's Bar in Venice , the owner 's noble friend , a famous Countess was advised by her doctor not to eat cooked meat . So the famous Carpaccio , a raw dish was invented by him .
Now over the years, the vegetarian version of Carpaccio has come up like Pineapple Carpaccio, Beet Carpaccio, Zucchini Carpaccio , high protein Tofu Carpaccio, Coconut , Mango & Ice Apple Carpaccio , tomato spring onion Carpaccio & of course the famous Guava Carpaccio, the most popular of all , whose recipe we will be checking out today . Steps
- 1
For the Lemon Vinegarette : Take a deep bowl. Add salt, red chilli flakes, black salt, lemon juice & chopped coriander. Mix very well.Keep aside.
- 2
Cut the guava into thin slices.
- 3
Add the guava slices in the Lemon Vinegarette. Toss gently but well enough that the guava slices are coated very well with the Lemon Vinegarette.
- 4
Line the plate with these coated guava slices. Garnish with feta cheese, pistachio & almond flakes. Serve immediately.
- 5
Note : Guava Carpaccio can be served as a side dish or eaten as it is, in the late afternoons, to beat the small hunger pangs. It is very healthy. During summers, when you are not in the mood to eat a full meal, Carpaccio can be eaten as a meal by itself. It tastes amazing & is very satisfying.
