Calendula is known for it's antioxidants like Carotenoids and Flavanoids that helps protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals. It also has microbial properties that almost kills infections and doesn't let them spread. It also has antibacterial properties that helps fight persistent cough or congestion.
It's a perfect choice for relaxing on any given day with your loved ones besides you. Any sweetner of your choice can be added to the hot beverage or concoction for a soothing effect.
Traditional herbalists added these to the Soups for a speedy recovery. It also protects the Liver. Not only the above-mentioned advantages, it is a strong skin lightning agent and helps prevents dark spots and discolouration.
It is mostly safe to consume. But as goes with any other thing, moderation is a must. Have it once a Week or every fortnight. Pregnant and lactating mothers should avoid this totally. Children also must not be given this. And even if it has to be given, one should proceed only after consulting a Doctor.

Steps
- 1
Bring water to a rolling boil on a high heat at first. Later lower the heat to a low. Add the dry calendula petals to it. Simmer for a minute or two.
- 2
Cover and let it steep for the next 2-3 more minutes. The infused flavours that way are the best. It becomes so aromatic and flavourful.
- 3
Serve it warm with a teaspoon of honey or jaggery. However it's optional. You can skip that altogether.
- 4
A warm cup of calendula tea not only has a calming effect on the body. It also refreshes you. Enjoy!
