Cooking Instructions

1 hour
  1. 1

Heat 1 tbsp oil on a frying pan and sauté the vegetables. Add the mince. When the mince is cooked, add the ketchup, tonkatsu sauce and curry roux. Add water to loosen the roux and mix well. Mix in garam marsala, take off the heat and let the filling cool.

  2. 2

Mix the four and water to make gloopy batter. Brush the edge of a slice of bread with the batter and place the filling on one half. Gently fold over and pinch the edges to seal in the filling to make a parcel.

  3. 3

Dip the bread parcel in the batter, then cover with breadcrumbs. Make sure all the sides and edges are coated well at each stage.

  4. 4

Heat oil to 180°C and deep fry the parcel until golden brown and crispy.

  5. 5

Place on paper towel to drain off excess oil.

  6. 6

The bread parcels can be reheated. From chilled: microwave for 1 minute and then crispen up both sides under the grill, or in the air fryer (follow the manufacturer's instructions for reheating). From frozen: heat in the oven at 160°C for 35 minutes. Make sure the filling is piping hot.
